Small-group tours in Georgia from Tbilisi

Scheduled departures capped at 14, with a licensed local guide and everything arranged — join with a single seat.

Our small-group tours in Georgia leave central Tbilisi on fixed, published dates: six day trips and one four-day mountain tour, with groups capped at 14 and usually six to ten travellers.

That size keeps the pace unhurried and the guide within earshot. You make your own way to Tbilisi; we handle the rest.

Choosing your Georgia group tour from Tbilisi

  • [Mtskheta, Gori and Uplistsikhe](/en/georgia/mtskheta-gori-uplistsikhe-day-trip) — the cheapest day out and a good first one: the old capital with its UNESCO cathedral, Stalin's home town, and a cave city carved into the rock above the Mtkvari.
  • [Kakheti wine country](/en/georgia/kakheti-wine-day-trip) — tastings in a family qvevri cellar and a boutique winery, plus the walled hill town of Sighnaghi and Bodbe Monastery.
  • [Kazbegi](/en/georgia/kazbegi-day-trip) — the Georgian Military Highway over the 2,379-metre Jvari Pass, the Ananuri fortress and a 4x4 up to Gergeti Trinity Church. No hiking required, and fine for families.
  • [Martvili and Okatse canyons](/en/georgia/martvili-okatse-canyons-day-trip) — a boat through a turquoise limestone gorge in western Georgia, and a walkway bolted to the canyon wall above the forest.
  • [Borjomi, Rabati and Vardzia](/en/georgia/borjomi-rabati-vardzia-day-trip) — the mineral-water park, the rebuilt castle at Akhaltsikhe and a twelfth-century monastery cut into a cliff face, on the road south.
  • [Gudauri](/en/georgia/gudauri-ski-day-trip) — a ski day at 2,200 metres two hours from the city, from December to early April, and the one tour where non-skiers pay the same and still get the day.
  • [Svaneti, four days](/en/georgia/svaneti-4-day-tour) — three nights in family guesthouses in Mestia, a long, mostly gentle hike to the Chalaadi Glacier, and the drive up to Ushguli beneath Shkhara. Three to five hours on foot over uneven ground; capped at 12.

Torn between the mountains? Read Kazbegi vs Svaneti. Tusheti runs only as a private expedition.

What each tour includes

Every tour includes return transport from Tbilisi and a licensed guide — English or Russian on the day trips, English in Svaneti. The day trips add hotel pickup in central Tbilisi; Svaneti leaves early from a central meeting point, with pickup available. Kazbegi includes the 4x4 to Gergeti and Kakheti both tastings. On the Gudauri day the lift pass and the gear rental are bought at the resort windows, where the guide does the queueing and the sizing with you. Svaneti includes the guesthouses, breakfasts, two dinners and a lunch; day-trip lunches are paid on the spot.

Travel insurance is not included but is compulsory: since 1 January 2026 Georgia requires every foreign tourist to hold health and accident cover of at least 30,000 lari for the whole stay (Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, verified 17 September 2026).

When to go

Mtskheta and Kakheti run all year, and Kakheti is at its best during rtveli, the September and October grape harvest. The roads to Kazbegi and Svaneti are most dependable from June to October, and if the Kazbegi road closes on your date we offer another date or a full refund. The canyons are a warm-weather trip; Gudauri is the winter one.

How a date is confirmed

Every published date says which it is, before you pay. A date marked Guaranteed runs whatever the numbers. Any other date needs four travellers, and we confirm it — or offer the nearest alternative, or a full refund — at least seven days before departure.
